DESCRIPTIVE NOTES

SH-1984 included an American choral work composed to the doxology text, "Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow." This selection appeared as #606 in the Mennonite 1964 hymnal and became a favorite among American Mennonites. The piece was so popular that it was identified simply the the page number: "Let's sing 606."

As a result of the common theological and historical connections, this setting of the doxology made its way into the Brethren in Christ Church. In SH-1984, it was hymn number 5. Although printed in the key of A, it is a bit more comfortable for most singers to set this in the key of G.
